Where to Watch the 2014 World Cup in Seattle

The 2014 World Cup in Brazil begins June 12

With 32,000 Seattle Sounders season ticket holders and countless other soccer fans in the city, 2014 FIFA World Cup promises to generate some serious revenue for lucky (or just smart?) local sports bars and brew pubs. All it takes is a big screen or seven…and a whole lotta cold hops. From June 12 to July 13, 32 soccer teams will play 64 World Cup games—which, at roughly three games per day, means a huge opportunity for Seattleites to do what we love best: drink beer and cheer on our favorite teams. Tom Douglas is planning to open a cantina/taqueria this fall because, why not?

Tentatively called The Lone Stranger, it'll be located near the pod that houses all of his other restaurants in Belltown (Lola, Palace Kitchen, Dahlia Lounge, Serious Pie, Tanakasan) in The Martin building on Fifth and Lenora.

Friday (6/6, 8 p.m.) — One of the many cool things about the Seattle Symphony’s groundbreaking Sonic Evolution program, according to maestro Ludovic Morlot, is that it brings people to Benaroya Hall who’ve never been there before.
