There’s much to discuss regarding the shopping and retail world. Stores are opening, sales are happening and fetes are transpiring. Let’s review.

Custom storage and closet beautifying company California Closets is opening a showroom in South Lake Union at 315 Westlake Avenue N. The new space will feature full-size closet systems for shoppers to browse, a selection of decorative hardware in styles such as traditional, contemporary, transitional and modern, and lighting options like shelf and accent lighting and installation and switch options. Peruse the store starting Thursday, April 21, from 10 to 6 p.m. daily and by appointment on Saturdays. To fete the new showroom, California Closets and Seattle magazine are hosting a party from 4 to 7 p.m. on April 21. Get all the details and RSVP here.

We reported back in March that J. Crew’s sister brand Madewell will open a downtown store along Fifth Avenue later this month. The women’s clothing and accessories retailer appears to be right on schedule and is hosting a grand opening party at its new location (near Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie) on Tuesday, April 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. According to the Facebook event page, you’ll toast to the shop with sips and snacks and if you make a purchase, you’ll get a gratis reusable Bien Fait tote.

West Seattle’s modern lifestyle and curated gifts store Click! Design That Fits! is hosting a trunk show and collection launch on Saturday, April 16, for Canadian artist and jewelry maker Karen Konzuk. The shop carries Konzuk’s commitment rings, but during the event will showcase her entire line and will unveil her minimalist Stellar collection of baubles made with actual diamond dust embedded into black-tinted concrete. Designs in the collection are named after stars, moons, asteroids and comets and range in price from $25 to $650. Get to Click! in the West Seattle Junction from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to shop all the gorgeous finds and meet the designer.

Los Angeles-based home goods retailer Z Gallerie officially opened its store in Bellevue Square last weekend. The 8,500-square-foot space is located on the shopping center’s first floor below Zara and is currently the brand’s only store in Washington state. A spokesperson for the retailer confirmed that its Redmond Town Center location has closed. Z Gallerie operates 60 stores nationwide.
