The free cloud-based storage and file sharing service Dropbox, headquartered in San Francisco, has announced that it will open an engineering office here in Seattle in mid-2015. It’s the first West Coast office for the company outside of its South Beach (within South of Market) neighborhood digs. The Seattle space (location is still TBD) joins Dropbox’s long list of offices in cities such as New York, Austin, London and Sydney.

According to the Dropbox blog, it’s looking to hire core developers, application developers, infrastructure developers and backend developers to “work on high-impact projects as a single team and operate alongside our teams around the world.”

“We’re thrilled to announce we’ve landed in Seattle and are building a Dropbox engineering team here,” Aditya Agarwal, Dropbox’s vp of engineering says. “Seattle is home to an incredibly talented community of engineers and is one of the world’s most beautiful cities. We’re excited to establish a significant, long-term presence in the city.”

A specific opening date has not yet been confirmed, but stay tuned for more. To apply to one of Dropbox’s open Seattle jobs, go here.
