A new watering hole sits along the steel paths of the pedestrian walkway downtown, offering a sweet escape during long ferry waits.

THE VIBE:
A clean, industrial theme beckons: Brick walls are decked with black-and-white photos of steamers and steel workers, and drinkers sink down at one of three micro steel-lined tables or take a seat at the bar. Sleek booths line the windows for a view of the Alaskan Way happenings. Leave the heels at home; this is a casual late 20s/early 30s crowd.

THE FOOD:
It’s a sandwich fest, premade fresh in-house daily with locally sourced ingredients. Try The Luddite, made with roast beef, Mt. Townsend Cirrus Camembert, onion marmalade, horseradish spread and arugula pressed perfectly on an organic panino roll ($7.50). For a snack, nibble on the meat and cheese board ($10), a zesty combination of Zoe’s hot coppa, Cabernet salami, prosciutto, and Mt. Townsend’s Seastack and Cirrus cheeses with sea-salted crackers.

THE DRINKS:
The creative cocktail selection includes the St. Vitus, a sinfully spicy concoction of muddled mint, Hot Monkey hot-pepper-infused vodka, house-pressed sour mix and soda served in a tall glass ($7.50). For some antioxidant goodness, wash down your meal with the Matcha Mule ($7.50), a green-tea take on the Moscow Mule with matcha-infused vodka, lime and Cock ’n Bull cane sugar ginger beer.
