Opened last summer, the center provides education, comprehensive care and support services for mothers and their newborns, from pregnancy through the first few months of a new baby’s life. Services include a clinic for new mom and well-baby check-ups a few days after birth to make sure everything is going smoothly. br /The center also offers breast feeding support, classes on childbirth and parenting, exercise classes for pregnant and post-partum moms, meeting areas for family members, social workers and support groups focusing on postpartum mood disorders, and a baby changing and weighing station. There’s even a covered outside playground for toddlers and children. “It’s the go-to place for moms and dads—and grandparents and siblings—expecting a new baby,” Uhlir says./p
