Sarah Caples' 1970s Disco Glam Style

This stylish Seattleite mixes breezy bohemian looks with her favorite golden accessories.

Sarah Caples may have been just a tyke when disco was first in vogue, but the busy charity fundraiser, stylist, mom and blogger (subterfugeseattle.com), 41, often looks ready to hit the floor at Studio 66 with her voluminous, tousled hair, platform heels and layers of gilded baubles.

Peppered in with her high-waisted jeans and flowing blouses are decidedly modern twists courtesy of colorful, bohemian dresses or luscious furs à la her style icon, Rachel Zoe, topped off with chunky, custom-made jewels from local designers.

“I’m a bit moody in my style,” she says. “Sometimes it skews towards rock ’n’ roll, sometimes more laid-back, but I love, love that glam.”

THE ENSEMBLE:
Abi Ferrin “Nikki” five-way polyester/spandex long dress with kimono sleeves and adjustable ties, The Finerie; custom-made smoky quartz ring, by Seattle jeweler Bruce Magnotti; vintage gold serpent chain-mail cuffs, from Queen Anne vintage shop Rhinestone Rosie; python-skin wraparound bracelets, by local designer Carole McClellan; gold serpent necklace, Sway and Cake.
