Well, it’s Friday at last. Pour yourself an eggnog latte and let’s dive into what’s happening so far today.

A late surge in votes has pushed I-1351, the measure to limit class sizes and increase public school staff in Washington state, ahead. It’s currently leading by nearly 5,000 votes. Expect the next update sometime tonight.

The sun is out where I sit this morning and the forecast is showing more afternoon sun on the horizon. And no more windy conditions; wind gusts have dropped to just 10mph, a nice reprieve from those nasty 30-40mph ones we experienced yesterday.

A man was arrested in Kirkland after he tried to shoplift an HP printer. It’s unclear how he had planned to hide the oversized stolen goods as he exited the store or why he wanted to take the equipment. Perhaps his old printer just kept saying “PC Load Letter”?

A woman walking to work near the Seattle Center on Tuesday morning was attacked and robbed by what she described as “a bored teenager.” KOMO News has all the details, including that her attacker told her “I’m going to slap you.”

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office would like for everybody to stop calling about gun background checks. It’s been mere days since the initiative 594 to expand background checks for gun purchases and transfers has passed and since then, the Clallam County office has had a slew of phone calls asking questions and voicing concerns. Kaylene Zellar at the Sherrif’s office tells MyNorthwest.com the calls are getting in the way of the department handling emergencies.
