Timberland Opening at Bellevue Square

Outdoor retailer Timberland, known for its rugged and well-made men’s and women’s footwear, outerwear and more, will open a 2,900-square-foot store in Bellevue Square on Friday, April 22. The shop will be the brand’s only Seattle-area location; it currently sells its wares via various authorized retailers around the city.

Located on the second floor next to the Oakley store, Timberland’s new outpost will feature its signature boot wall–which is, as the name suggests, a wall loaded top to toe with boots–and a section wherein shoppers can learn more about product care, watch interactive product presentations and customize their laces. At opening, expect the full spring collection of footwear, apparel and accessories, plus its Timberland Boot Company collection, a premium men’s line featuring oxfords and slip-on boots and shoes. The company has also designed an exclusive Seattle-inspired tee.

The store itself has been designed with sustainability in mind. (Timberland has long been focused on its environmental footprint and how its practices affect the Earth. It launched its Green Index rating system in 2007 and according to Forbes, set revised sustainability goals in 2015 in four categories: climate, product, factories and service.)

Inside the Bellevue Square store, you’ll find eco-friendly design aplenty, including reclaimed wood, industrial machinery moonlighting as table bases, recycled ceramic tiles, woods certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, LED lighting and low volatile organic compound (VOC) paints.

There are also ample events happening to celebrate the new shop, including a grand opening party on April 30 from 12 to 3 p.m., where you can mingle with the Timberland team and have a chance to win free boots. On May 7, mosey in for an in-store beer tasting with the Bellevue Brewing Company from 2 to 5 p.m. And on May 21, gorge on gratis Top Pot donuts and cross your fingers for success during its hourly boot giveaways.

Visit the Timberland store Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at 245 Bellevue Square.
