Where to Drink Copious Amounts of Cider This Weekend

The Pacific Northwest Cider Awards are happening Friday and Saturday

For cider lovers, local product lovers and good drink lovers, this is one of the best weekends of the year. It’s time for the Pacific Northwest Cider Awards (PNWCA)!

The PNWCA takes place on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, and the judging happens on Friday (lucky me, I get to be a judge). An all-day, open-to-the public festival is on Saturday from 1 to 10 p.m at the Seattle Cider Company‘s SoDo tasting room The Woods (4700 Ohio Ave S). Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door, and include a 12-ounce PNWCA tulip glass and 8 tasting tokens, which can be used for 5-ounce pours, or use two for a 10-ounce pour. Also, anyone with a ticket gets a voting slip, which allows you to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Food truck Bread & Circuses will be on hand serving food.

There will be around 30 ciders on tap, including varieties from Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Canada. Take a look at the list and plan your tasting visit:
