Food & Wine has come out with its list of The People’s Best New Chef 2014 nominees, and the only nod for Seattle comes in the form of Bar Sajor’s Edouardo Jordan. Last year, four local chefs made the cut.

Why he’s amazing, according to F&W: Because he went from being a server at Bennigan's (his first restaurant job) to cooking curious edibles (like spruce tips and chrysanthemum greens) over wood and fire at one of Seattle's hippest new restaurants.”

Jordan says a ton of hard work and dedication paid off, and that he’s honored to be recognized for something he loves doing.

“Ten years ago, I made a decision to follow a dream to become a chef.  With a focused mind and humbled heart I have overcome so many obstacles, in my career and life, so it’s a magnificent moment in life when recognition comes along. I hope this nomination and my accomplishments can be inspiration for others with similar beginnings. What a great feeling!”

You can vote for Jordan online now through March 31.
