Weekly Must List: August 5 - August 11, 2010

Our top To-Do's for the week ahead

August 5 - August 11, 2010

MUST TASTE
Berry Bumbershoot at Molly Moon’s
8/5 – 8/11 (Thursday – Wednesday)
- Get fired up for Seattle’s favorite end-of-summer arts festival with Molly Moon’s new blackberry flavor—created in honor of Bumbershoot’s 40th birthday—starting August 5th. Times and prices vary. Available at two locations, 1622 N 45th St., Wallingford and 917 E Pine St., Capitol Hill. www.mollymoonicecream.com.

MUST LISTEN
KEXP's Concerts at the Mural: Elliott Brood, Grand Hallway, Gabriel Mintz
8/6 (Friday ) -
Don’t miss the self-proclaimed “death country” Toronto trio Elliott Brood, with Seattle-based special guests, Grand Hallway and Gabriel Mintz. Incorporating alternative percussion instruments into their music, such as a drum suitcase, Elliott Brood creates an energetic sound and a foot-stompin’ good time. Chamber pop octet Grand Hallway and melancholy crooner Gabriel Mintz may be the special guests, but their finely crafted sounds are just as headliner-worthy and not to be missed. Free admission. 6:00 p.m. Seattle Center, 305 Harrison Street, Queen Anne; 206.684.7200; www.seattlecenter.com.

MUST GAWK
Burlesque: Seafarer Follies
8/6 – 8/7 (Friday - Saturday)
- Those of you claiming to be Seafair-sick may perk up for this new (and very unofficial) entry in Seattle’s annual summer festival. The Seafarer Follies is a burlesque show featuring some of Seattle’s favorite strip-down stars, including The Swedish Housewife and Waxie Moon. Prepare to see Blue Angels, Red Devils, naughty mermaids and crustaceans unshelled. 8/6–8/7. $22–$25. 11 p.m. The Triple Door, 216 Union St.; 206.838.4333; thetripledoor.net.

MUST DUCK
Blue Angels Airshow
8/7 – 8/8 (Saturday - Sunday)
- Remember to stay low to the ground while you’re craning your neck to see the sound-barrier-breaking Blue Angels streaming overhead. Or they just may knock off your hat. Blue Angels demostration starts at 1:30p.m. www.seafair.com/weekend/airshow/.
