MUST TASTE
Kirkland Uncorked
7/16 – 7/18 (Friday – Sunday)
- Wine lovers, grab your designated driver and head to Kirkland Uncorked, where more than a dozen wineries will pour their greatest grapes. Held in marina Park—known for its boaty appeal—the event will feature restaurant-food sampling, more than 40 artists’ booths and live music. Don’t forget the Grill Off on Saturday ($20 advance, $25 at the gate, and $15 for your designated driver—be nice and pay your DD’s way in). July 16–18; 206.633.0422; kirklanduncorked.com

MUST EXPLORE

Seattle Square
7/17 (Saturday)
- Check out Pioneer Square’s new outdoor market, starting July 17th, featuring vintage and craft vendors. Looking for a modern piece of furniture or letterpress cards? You'll find that here, along with groovy beats from local DJs spinning all afternoon. A rotating list of food vendors set to make an appearance include favorites like gourmet sandwich experts Delicatus, Skillet food truck, Parfait Organic Ice-Cream, and Ram and Rooster Dumplings. Free admission. Saturdays, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Occidental Ave. S and S Main St., Occidental Square, www.theseattlesquare.com/

MUST EAT
Bite of Seattle
7/16 – 7/18 (Friday – Sunday)
- The annual eat fest returns to Seattle Center, including “The Alley” hosted by Tom Douglas, where a slew of Seattle’s high-end restaurants contribute gourmet items to a $10 buffet. And thanks to the continued success of the Just a Bite tasting booths (offering smaller portions for $3.75), the Bite is expanding this area to include more restaurants, such as The Swinery (bacon pops, anyone?). Free admission. 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sun., 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Seattle Center, 305 Harrison St.; 425.283.5050; comcastbiteofseattle.com

MUST HEAR
Antibalas
7/20 (Tuesday)
- Continuing in the tradition of Fela Kuti, these Afro-beat icons blend funk, jazz and dub with their percussion and horn-heavy sound. Their earthshaking live show is bound to leave you (and the dance floor) dripping with sweat. $16. 8 p.m. Neumos, 925 E Pike St.; 206.709.9467; neumos.com
