Food News: the Latest on Local 360, Serious Pie in South Lake Union, High 5 Pie, More

Hmmm, pie!

Local 360, a Melrose Market-esque collection of shops anchored by a restaurant, is slowly, bit-by-bit opening in the former Flying Fish space in Belltown. Right now the coffee bar is open, and soon (in the next couple of weeks, I'm told) they'll add breakfast and lunch. The butcher and cheese counters will follow in February.

Speaking of the Melrose Market, looks like Taylor Shellfish is opening a small store in the space being vacated by Velouria. That place really is a one-stop shop, except for fresh produce...

The new Serious Pie, on the corner of Westlake and Harrison Streets, is now in its soft-launch phase (read: they're essentially practicing). The public opening date is set for this coming Monday, the 10th . In the meantime, Michael Teer, owner of the eminently good Pike and Western Wine Shop, has opened Soul Wine right alongside Serious Pie. And there's a tasting bar! The name's a little wonky, but getting to taste Teer's wine while we wait for a seat at Pie is not too shabby at all.

Also opened while you were up to your neck in holiday parties:

Uneeda Burger, from Quinn's/Zoe chef Scott Staples, getting all kinds of love on Yelp; Revel, the restaurant I am most dying to get to (but instead I'm biting my hand and waiting for a few more weeks); and High 5 Pie in the Trace Lofts on 12th and Madison.

Finally, Mike McConnell will open another Caffe Vita in Phinney Ridge in the old Rising Stars space (74th and Greenwood).
