Green Thumb Education
If you've put off getting your yard in shape this spring, there's no time like the present to learn a few new tricks that might just inspire you to achieve that green thumb you've always wanted. And who better to teach you than Seattle Tilth, the Walingford-based non-profit that teaches people how to garden organically and conserve natural resources in the process. Some of the June class offerings include:
-- Container Veggie Gardening
-- Composting for Apartment Dwellers
-- Dealing with Summer Pests
-- City Chickens 101
-- Simple Techniques for Preserving the Harvest
Most of the classes run less than four hours and cost $30-40 or so. Your yard--not to mention your familiy members, neighbors, and urban wildlife--will surely thank you later.
