Fashion & Style Friday: Swinging by Momo
Walking into Momo (located in the International District) is like embarking on an global treasure hunt. Dressers and cabinets welcome shoppers with open drawers overflowing with fashion accessories, cards, candles and goodies from near and afar. The walls are lined with men’s and women’s clothing lines from around the world such as France’s Cop Copine for women (très chic sport-to-street styles) and the classic French St. James sailor shirts for men ($88). Momo also carries local lines which prove that you don’t need to travel far to find great fashion. Seattle-based Ai Okubo Roach’s silk scarves ($92-$135) are hand-dyed using Japanese techniques and natural pigments derived from plants and insects. I personally love scarves. They are a multi-tasking accessory perfect for updating any look and Ai Okubo Roach’s rich, vivid colors (including blue, maroon and ivory) are statement-making pieces.
