New men’s sportswear start-up Sodo Apparel’s sleek, simple and functional line of workout wear for men is made with high-tech fabrics that breathe well, allow adequate range of motion and wick moisture away from the body. Manufactured in Spokane, each piece is incubated and tested by volunteers, who put the clothing through their workout paces before hitting the retail racks.
2014 is a landmark year for renowned designer Diane von Furstenberg: Her iconic wrap dress turned 40, and on May 1, she opens her 95th store, in Bellevue Square near Center Court. “The Seattle area is so gorgeous,” says von Furstenberg. “It is blessed with the most beautiful nature and filled with so much creativity and innovation. I am thrilled to be opening my first shop in the Northwest!” The 2,302-square-foot store features a white, gallery-like interior punctuated with the graphic patterns that DVF is known for.
