On Wednesday, we heard that Revel, the new Korean street-eats place from the owners/chefs at Joule, is opening today! And that Scott Staples' Uneeda Burger will open in a week or so. That's great news for Fremonters.

A little puzzled about which bubbly to serve your holiday guests this season? The Local Vine is offering a fun way to learn (and taste!) the difference between champagne and other sparkling wines this Thursday, December 16th at 6pm-8pm. A collection of over 20 bubbly wines will be poured, including bottles that range in price from $10 to over $200. Some selections offered include Grand Marque Champagne, Grower Champagne, California Sparkling, as well as other hard to find, specially produced samples from around the world.

In celebration of Tamara Murphy's new book, Tender: Farmers, Cooks, Eaters, Tamara along with Chris Curtis of the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance, is hosting an all-day book signing event at the newly remodeled Reading Room at the Pioneer Square Elliott Bay Cafe this Thursday from 11am to 5pm. (The buck stops here) The perfect local, organic, nutirent-rich Thanksgiving side dish.  By massaging salt into kale, the bitterness disappears and the leaves become tender. Dress it with olive oil and apple cider vinegar after adding fresh apples, currants, nuts and crumbled cheese. A HUGE favorite among both my students and friends.
