Just like her Capitol Hill counterpart John Sundstrom, Ericka Burke is re-emerging with three new projects this year. And also like Sundstrom, it’s all happening nearly a decade after opening her first Seattle restaurant, Volunteer Park Café.
Tom Douglas is planning to open a cantina/taqueria this fall because, why not?
Tentatively called The Lone Stranger, it'll be located near the pod that houses all of his other restaurants in Belltown (Lola, Palace Kitchen, Dahlia Lounge, Serious Pie, Tanakasan) in The Martin building on Fifth and Lenora.

Come end of June, Book Bindery in *Queen Anne will be closing for good, re-emerging in August with a new name and a new chef.
By way of press release, the owners behind the winery-adjacent restaurant along the Ship Canal announced that Nico Borzee, most recently of Artusi, will be stepping into the role being vacated by chef Shaun McCrain, who has been with the Book Bindery since it opened in 2010.

After more than a decade, chef John Sundstrom is back to opening restaurants, and he’s going big!
Not only is he moving his quaint little Capitol Hill restaurant Lark to bigger digs, he’s launching two new projects — all under the same roof.
Fortunately for the Capitol Hill contingent, he’s staying close to home, heading to the Central Agency Building next to IHOP at 952 E. Seneca St.
The team behind Local 360 is opening another restaurant in Belltown this summer called Bell + Whete (“wheat”). It’s going into the ground floor of the 206 Bell Apartments, near the corner of 2nd and Bell, sometime this summer (July is the goal).
