Sam Choy is such a tease. The celebrity chef from Hawaii has been Tweeting about rolling out a food truck in Seattle: “Sam Choy's bringing island favorites & more for you to enjoy. We cooking up Loco Moco, Kalua Pork, lots of Poke & other great dishes. Mo Poke, Mo Betta!” The huggable Choy is known as the Godfather of Poke and that’s going to be the star attraction and the name of the new truck, Sam Choy’s Poke to the Max.

Graduations:Novelist David Guterson tells the kids of Roosevelt High School to get over their narcissism and find true happiness in selfless acts. And he got booed for it. Lucky class of '13.

Sunday June 16 is Father’s Day and Butch Blum is doing it up right during their Summer Solstice Stylin’ event. From noon to 5 p.m., select merchandise will be 30 to 40 percent off (with party games to win additional markdowns); there will be a drawing to win one of three Virtual Golf Experience at Hotel 1000; enjoy 20 percent off made-to-measure suits, that day only, and styling appointments with Cameron Levin (appointment necessary for both), two great opportunities to style out your recent grad.

These locally made ceramic votive holders are lovely and glow so beautifully when lit by a tea light from within.  They're also water-tight which means you can fill them with flowers. $18 at Sugarpill.

This summer Cap Hill retailer NuBe Green is taking to the streets in their new 24-foot mobile solar powered boutique fashion out of a salvaged shipping container. Its first stop is at Bellevue’s Cupcake Royale, right in the heart of downtown Bellevue and will be there from June 20 through September 15. Inside you’ll find a slimmed down inventory of the same great stuff you love at NuBe Green’s brick and mortar, all designed and manufactured in the USA, delightfully packaged in a large rectangular box.

Must VisitBainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) Grand OpeningBainbridge Island welcomes BIMA, its very own art and culture haven, focusing on contemporary work by artists from the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas. Go for the museum’s striking architecture—a curve of tall windows sweeps visitors toward the entrance—and for its many opening exhibits, including work by Bainbridge Island artist and children’s book illustrator Barbara Helen Berger.

It’s that time of year when us gardeners move from planting and planning to watering and weeding (sadly, for most, we’re still a bit away from harvesting). But don’t forget one of the most fun steps of all is watching your garden grow. Wait, you think this isn’t actually a fun step? I suggest the next time you take a break from the watering and the weeding to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor, that you have one of the below garden-inspired cocktails. I’ll bet you’ll find the whole process more fun.

One of my most fave local designers, Michael Cepress, is hosting a show on June 21 at the Century Ballroom, featuring both men’s and women’s collections. This is excellent news for those of us ladies who love his menswear so much that we’ve considered having him make us a suit just to get to work with him.

Update 10:14 a.m. Here's what I just got from Nordstrom: The line will be called SJP (natch), will launch in January at select Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com and will include sandals, flats, pumps and boots ranging from $200-$400, "runway-worthy shoes at attainable price-points...top-notch Italian craftsmanship with luxe materials in unexpected color combinations." OMG.

My fave sale is from the most aspirational (for most) shop in town is about to drop. Totokaelo's end of season sale starts Saturday, June 15, with all spring merch marked down 30 to 50 percent. That means deals on Rick Owens, Jil Sander, Uzi, Raquel Allegra, Carven, Won Hundred and many, many other coveted brands. I love this sale. While you're shopping, head over to Totokaelo Man to see what retail brainiac, Jill Wenger has in store for the dude in your life.

After our successful (and extremely adorable) Mother's Day Instagram Photo Contest, we decided to do it again for Father's Day. Starting now through Sunday, June 16, snap an Instagram photo of you and your dad (or dads: you and your kids) out and about at your favorite Seattle spot (think restaurant, park, shop, sporting event, you name it) and tag it @Seattlemag #FathersDayPics to enter the contest.
