Join North Cascades Institute and REI in welcoming Richard Louv to two special events in the Northwest as the celebrated author introduces his latest work, The Nature Principle. The immediacy of the message in his book Last Child in the Woods galvanized an international movement to reconnect children with nature. With The Nature Principle, Louv reaches even further with an investigation into the power of living in nature -- not with it, but in it: "We are entering the most creative period in history. The twenty-first century will be the century of human restoration in the natural world."

Following his presentation, Louv will be interviewed on-stage by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist William Dietrich in Seattle (May 12 at Town Hall, starts at 7 p.m.) and Institute executive director Saul Weisberg in Bellingham (May 13 at Sehome High School at 7 p.m.). Seattle will also feature an environmental education fair featuring the Institute, IslandWood, Olympic Park Institute, NOLS, Earth Corps, YMCA, Outward Bound and many other organizations. Book sales and signing too!

Tickets available in advance or at the door -- more info at www.ncascades.org/events.

Another great event sponsored by the North Cascades Institute that you won't want to miss is author and environmental luminary Wendell Berry speaking at Benaroya Hall on May 24 at 7:30 p.m. (co-sponsored by Seattle Arts and Lectures). Tickets for this special event are available via lectures.org.
