Yoga at Olympic Sculpture Park
Saturday (8/20) - Combine your art intake and your exercise with free yoga in SAM’s Olympic Sculpture Park. Teachers from 8 Limbs Yoga will take you through the poses—all you have to do is bring your own mat and water. After your workout, explore SAM’s second annual On-Site summer exhibit, featuring new temporary works by Northwest artists Gretchen Bennett, Nicholas Nyland and Carolina Silva, whose pieces appear both to have just fallen out of the sky and to have been there all along. Auction of Washington Wines Weekend
Thursday (8/18) - Saturday (8/20) - The 24th annual, three-day Auction of Washington Wines (Seattle magazine is a media sponsor) kicks off tonight with the always elegant yet approachable alfresco Picnic and Barrel auction on the Chateau Ste Michelle back lawn. It’s perfect prep for the rest of the weekend’s drinking and feasting, which includes intimate winemaker dinners at various private estates and venues on Friday night, the 5K Covey Run on Saturday morning, and the luxe Wine Gala on Saturday night, also held also held on the sweeping grounds of Chateau Ste Michelle in Woodinville. Century Ballroom Flea Market
Saturdays, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. - Century Ballroom’s new indoor flea market features clothing and jewelry by local designers, plus housewares and gift items from local shops, and assorted vintage clothing and furniture. Dig in! This brand-new market is modeled after Parisian flea markets, and designed to give more exposure to small local businesses—and more fun for local shoppers. Totes-n-Tunes Kindie Music Fest
Sunday (8/21) - Join Seattle mag’s 2010 Best Local Kids’ Music winner Recess Monkey, along with other favorite local kids music bands Caspar Babypants, Board of Education, The Not-Its!, Johnny Bregar and more for the first-ever Tots-n-Tunes kindie music festival at the Seattle Center Mural Amphitheater. $10 for adults, kids are free.
