Hubbard Street Dance Chicago
[CONTEMPORARY] Internationally acclaimed Hubbard Street Dance Chicago brings two pieces to Seattle that together reflect the diversity of contemporary dance. The piece “Three to Max” by Ohad Naharin embodies the “Gaga” dance technique (fluid movement developed from improvisational rehearsals at which mirrors are banned), which the choreographer pioneered at Batsheva Dance Company in Israel. “Too Beaucoup,” by fellow Batsheva alum Sharon Eyal, takes a more rigid route, employing robotic movements and dancers in unison to create the illusion of watching a 3-D video.
