[MEMOIR] Writer Nick Flynn’s mother killed herself after reading one of his stories about her. His absent father suddenly showed up late in his son’s life as a homeless street alcoholic. But he managed to write honestly and tenderly about both events in Another Bullshit Night in Suck City (2004), which was later made into the movie Being Flynn. His brand-new book, The Reenactments, records the bizarre experience of watching his life re-created in cinematic form. Also an acclaimed poet, Flynn will talk about the intersection of poetry and memoir at his Seattle Arts & Lectures appearance.
