Ali: Our first interview of the night, the minute he started to speak I wanted to give him a big hug. He looked a little scared and uncomfortable at first, but once we started talking about the weather and the similarities between Seattle and England, he lit up, describing Manchester as a big bowl that filled with water all the time.
Bond: He had a lovely description (in an even lovelier Manchester accent) of his character's evolution to becoming braver and why shooting on an unforgiving location like the tundra of Iceland is worth it: "You can see every snowflake that landed on my cheek."
Ali: And the first scene of the episode we were just about to watch proved his point to the extreme. Expect some big things from this big man in season three.
