>> Luly Yang Couture celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Fremont Studios on April 27 with the Seattle magazine‒sponsored A Monarch’s Tale runway show and fundraiser for Seattle Children’s Hospital. In addition to the cute Seattle Children’s patients sporting couture outfits, the event showcased designer Luly Yang’s new line of evening and bridal gowns in an epic runway show. The inspiration for the show’s title comes from one of Yang’s first creations, her now famous monarch butterfly dress.

>> Following the performance of Apollo & Carmina on April 20, the Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) and Backstage Pass—PNB’s social and educational group for ballet patrons in their 20s and 30s—welcomed the company dancers and their fans to the eighth annual Backstage Bash: Apollo’s After Party, a late-night postshow gathering at McCaw Hall.

>> On May 3, the Four Seasons Hotel welcomed high-heeled ladies to Wine, Women and Shoes. There, they rubbed elbows with style expert Bobbie Thomas, shopped for hip footwear, and mingled with local vintners while sampling their goods, all for Seattle Children’s Home, a mental health center dedicated to serving children.

>> The American Cancer Society held its third annual Night of Hope Gala on May 5 at the Tulalip Resort. The event raise money to benefit Camp Goodtimes, a medically supervised children’s summer camp for cancer patients and their siblings.
