Brooke Davis, 98115, Maple Leaf
I moved to Maple Leaf when I bought my first home in 2003 and despite being a realtor and looking at homes every day, I have never had the urge to move. In fact, I regularly try and sell home buyers on the many benefits of my neighborhood. I know how important walkability is to savvy homeowners in Seattle and not only do I walk to Green Lake at least 3 days a week but I also walk to coffee shops, restaurants and the best movie store in Seattle. The owner of Cloud City Coffee even baked our wedding cake when we were married 8 years ago. I know every one of my neighbors and can’t imagine not having them around. I volunteer for an organization called Girls on the Run and two seasons ago I was the head volunteer coach at Sacajawea Elementary in Maple Leaf.
Of course, living in Maple Leaf, you must have a love for old Seattle homes. Our 1949 bungalow is a constant work in progress and gives us endless remodel projects. When we first moved in we finished off our basement and remodeled the kitchen 2 years later. In 2013 we gutted our main bathroom, replaced all of our exterior doors and bought colorful new living room furniture.
I truly enjoy everything my neighborhood has to offer from the easy Green Lake access, the walkability and cool local business, convenient freeway access and even the quick walk or drive to Northgate. I have always attended the neighborhood caucuses and my sister was even married in my backyard!
