On March 2, eight local personalities (including Seattle mag’s own Ernie Pino) paired with dance pros cut a rug for Plymouth Housing Group’s fourth annual Seattle Dances! fundraiser. Fremont Studios resembled Studio 54 in its heyday, complete with glitter, glitz and disco garb. Highlights included a hustle performed by gay rights advocate Charlene Strong, a Judges’ Choice-winning Lindy Hop from community volunteer Patti Savoy, a fantastic Gangnam Style from Hallie Kuperman and past Seattle Dances! dancers, and Pino performing a seated tango after injuring a calf muscle the day prior to the performance—picture an Martha Graham routine à la Flashdance, sans water.
