!–paging_filter–pIf you gaze out over Elliott Bay this weekend you might catch a glimpse of the a href=”http://www.hugoboss.com/us/en/emag/sportsSponsorship/sailing_boat.php” target=”_blank”Hugo Boss yacht/a, a carbon fiber, 60 mono-hull racing boat with around 600 square meters of sail (that’s the size of a soccer field) helmed by British skipper a href=”http://www.alexthomsonracing.com/“Alex Thomson/a, who races her all over the globe./p
pHugo Boss has been sponsoring Thomson since 2003 and in 2012 the team competed in the Vendée Globe, a three-month, round the world race, crossing the finish line in third place, 80 days, 19 hours, 23 minutes and 43 seconds after he started./p
pThe sailcloth that the boat utilizes is tailor-made by Hugo Boss to resist saltwater and cold weather. And of course, Thomson and his team are outfitted in head-to-toe a href=”http://www.hugoboss.com/” target=”_blank”Hugo Boss/a (sportswear and evening wear) as part of their sponsorship./p
pThe boat isn’t open for public rides, but will be available to check out when docked at the a href=”https://www.portseattle.org/Marinas/Bell-Harbor-Marina/Pages/default.aspx” target=”_blank”Bell Harbor Marina/a (2203 Alaskan Way) from Friday through Sunday. I’ll be aboard on Friday morning, so keep an eye on my Instagram (@alibrownrigg) for shots of the boat and her dashing crew./p
