Mother’s Day is around the corner and unless you booked those brunch plans weeks ago, you’re likely on the hunt for a surefire way to show Mom some love this weekend. We’ve rounded up five ways to remind her how much we care.

This Sunday marks the re-opening of the Capitol Hill Farmers Market, now located on Broadway at the Seattle Central Community College campus. Show mom you care with some urban produce shopping. 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Located in 2011 at the corner of Broadway and Pine. Baked Bite at La Reve Bakery & Cafe
You can pick up a few baked bites from La Reve or you can treat make a lunch date at this adorable Queen Anne bakery located in a restored house on Queen Anne Ave. Some of our favorites from the pastry case: Breton butter cake ($3.75), pain au chocolat ($3.75), twice-baked almond croissant ($3.75). If you’re staying for a meal, consider ordering the stellar BLT&G sandwich ($6.25). 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. La Reve, 1805 Queen Anne Ave. N, Suite 100; 206.623.7383; lerevebakery.com. ¢

A Driveable Summit
While you may respond to the call of the wild with nothing but a sharpened stick and a bag of granola, chances are your mom would appreciate a scenic view with, ahem, amenities. Check out our picks for the state’s best driveable summits and get the scoop on five Washington mountains (besides the oft-traveled road to Hurricane Ridge) you can summit in the relative comfort of your automobile.

Garden Store Field Trip
Whether she’s into planting veggies or tending to succulent house plants, why is it that moms seem to have the whole gardening thing down pat? Do your mom a favor this Sunday and take her on a garden store field trip (our favorites: City People’s, Ravenna Gardens, Swanson’s and Envy) and let mom pick out some spring plants. Go the extra mile and plant her new stash for her.
