Safeco Field Has an Amazing Beer Selection

The Mariners may have lost to the Chicago Cubs 5-3 at Saturday’s Turn Back the Clock game, but I still managed to have plenty of old-timey, sepia-toned fun in the stands. (The sheer amount of Cubs fans present was a bit bizarre, however.)

Saturday’s game was just my second experience at Safeco Field; I’m newish to Seattle and a ridiculously big Cincinnati Reds fan, but I like the Mariners–ya’ll had Ken Griffey Jr. first. It’s fair to say that I’ve spent a good amount of time at the Reds’ Great American Ballpark, and while it offers such glorious gameday delicacies as Skyline Chili and LaRosa’s Pizza, Safeco’s beer selection is one of the grandest beer selections in all the land. (So, fine, a lot of my fun in the stands stemmed from a few too many IPAs.)

On Wednesday, July 10, Safeco Field is hosting Brewery Night. Kim Sharpe Jones of the Washington Beer Blog reports that five Washington Breweries will be pouring: 7 Seas, Silver City, Diamond Knot, Schooner Exact and Fremont Brewing. Each brewery is bringing a cask and will have an additional beer on tap. That night, the M’s will face the Boston Red Sox. It sounds like a game I shouldn’t miss. Go Mariners! (And Reds!)
