Fashion + Style Friday: Beauty and shopping news, cozy knitwear and Butter London nail skins
Keep your eyes peeled for a plethora of new shopping stops and beauty spots opening in the coming weeks:
+ Get ready gents: Ward & Co., a men’s grooming retailer flush with shaving supplies, moisturizers, hair care and fragrances, will open in Rainier Square downtown on November 16.
+ Also on the beauty horizon: Offering lash extensions and other spa services, Tova Edwards will open Wink Lash Extensions next week in Bellevue, and if you’ve wondered about the construction happening in the old Flora and Henri space at 7th and Pine downtown, here’s your answer: A mother-daughter team will add another blow-out and styling spot option for downtown gals, opening swanky Mane Blow Dry Bar around New Year’s.
+ The Bravern has also added two new shops in time for the holiday season: Casual wear apparel shop Blue Willi's and the Holly Zhang Pearl Gallery, a specialty pearl jewelry shop, have both opened their doors at the high-end Eastside center.
Cozy up on wet days with local designer Helen Sharp’s amazing winter knitwear collection. The talented designer (who counts Calvin Klein and Michael Kors among her clients) hand-knits sweaters and tops out of warm lambswool and eco-wool with thoughtful added details like extra long sleeves (to tuck those cold hands into; pictued above). Shop the collection here, or at A Mano or Les Amis boutiques.
Looking to add a little pop of pattern? After seeing Butter London’s new nail skins in action, I heartily approve of these new, patterned stick-ons. Ridiculously easy to apply (seriously, I am challenged when it comes to applying stickers nicely), they are $10/set and peel right off when you’re ready for a change. Go leopard, if you dare.
