!–paging_filter–pI was super jealous of my New York friends when reading about the upcoming James Turrell exhibition at the Guggenheim. I wanted to stand in that museum, mouth agape, engulfed by his enormous installations that play with perception, light and space. And then it hit me: the a href=”http://www.henryart.org/exhibitions/show/14” target=”_blank”Skyspace/a! Seattle has its very own Turrell installation, called emLight Reign/em, at the Henry Art Museum on the University of Washington campus. This Friday, you can celebrate emLight Reign/em’s 10supth/sup birthday with excellent performances and displays dedicated to this incredible installation./p
pWhat better way to start a weekend? The Turrell celebration coincides with the Henry’s Bike Fridays program, in which the gallery offers free admission to cyclists every Friday throughout the summer. Bike Fridays touts an impressive array of programs, including a yoga/video installation series, a throatsinging workshop and a few out-of-town trips to get you exploring the Washington wilds.nbsp; Be sure to stop by this Friday (on your bike!) and check out more summer programs ata href=”http://www.henryart.org/events/program/38” target=”_blank” henryart.org/events/program/38./a/p
