This Sunday, Speed Rack comes to Seattle. This local iteration of the national batending competition will feature top local “mixtresses” from Seattle, Portland, Spokane and Denver competing in timed heats in which they mix cocktails picked randomly from a selection of 50 classics. Judges evaluate each drink on accuracy, taste and presentation. This rounds’ judging panel features cocktail heroes: Libation Goddess Audrey Saunders, amazing cocktail writer Robert Hess, Rob Roy’s awesome Anu Apte, and bar-chef angel Kathy Casey.

Top local shakers going to head-to-head this weekend include Veronika Groth from Poppy, Sophia Marlantes from Vessel, Elizabeth Powell from Liberty, and others. First place gets a $100 Cocktail Kingdom gift certificate and $500 to help get them to the National Finals in New York; the grand prize winner from those finals gets the Miss Speed Rack crown and a trip to France.

Proceeds from the evening support breast cancer research and other breast cancer charities! It’s time to get out and cheer on our local female shaking and stirring stars, while giving to a good cause.

Event details: Sunday, February 10, 3:00 p.m. at the Century Ballroom (915 E. Pine); speed-rack.com
