MUST SEE
Sapeurs
Ongoing (1/25–3/2) — Do not miss this stunning photography exhibit at M.I.A Gallery downtown, featuring the work of Baudoin Mouanda, a Congolese photographer who documents the “Society of Party Revelers and Elegant Persons,” a group of men dedicated to donning electrifyingly elegant fashion (think: dapper suits in day-glo colors) as an antidote to poverty and social stagnation.

MUST TASTE
Valentine’s To-Go Kits
Starting Saturday (2/9) — The dessert masters at Hot Cakes give you a perfect reason to stay home on the “lover’s holiday” this year: Valentine’s To-Go kits, featuring the new Dangerously Dark Hot Fudge Sauce , two Dark Decadence Molten Chocolate Cakes and a pint of Bluebird’s vanilla ice cream. The best part? This dessert is actually better when consumed alone; no sharing required!

MUST WATCH
Hubbard Street Dance Chicago
Saturday (2/9) — Internationally acclaimed Hubbard Street Dance Chicago brings two pieces to Seattle that together reflect the diversity of contemporary dance. One embodies the “Gaga” dance technique, which the choreographer pioneered in Israel. Another employs robotic movements and dancers in unison to create the illusion of watching a 3-D video.
2/9. 8 p.m. The Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine St.; 206.682.1414; stgpresents.org

MUST DISCUSS
Coal-Trains: Blessing or Blight?
Wednesday (2/13) — A huge, new coal-export terminal could be bound for Washington state, just north of Bellingham. As Elaine Bowers reported in an earlier Seattle magazine story, supporters swear by the positive economic impact; opponents warn the price is too high in terms of the health and safety of local residents. While the environmental review continues, a panel of experts take the stage at Town Hall to answer your questions about this controversial issue.
2/13. 7:30 p.m. $5. Town Hall, 1119 Eighth Ave.; 888.377.4510; townhallseattle.org
