Exciting news in the region’s retail scene with the announcement of several new shops opening in the next few weeks. Hometown mega-brand Tommy Bahama is celebrating their 20th anniversary by opening a shop at Bellevue Square on April 26 (they’ve already got one at University Village), for all your resort and island lifestyle fashion needs. The store will carry the complete Tommy Bahama collection, which includes men and women’s clothing, swimwear, footwear, accessories and home décor, but you’ll still have to travel out-of-state for their delicious coconut shrimp at one of their restaurant/store hybrids.

Kelie Grosso, whose interiors store, Maison Luxe once perched next to the downtown off-ramp from 99 on First Ave., is reopening in Madison Valley (in the old Veritables space at 2806 E. Madison St.), after a few years of being open by appointment only in a completely different space in Pioneer Square (I think interior designers must love to relocate so they have an excuse to redecorate their new space). I’m so happy to welcome Maison Luxe back to the game! I love Grosso’s sophisticated style and am always happy to have one more interiors store to covet and drool all over. Check back for word on when the store will be open to the public.

Recent New York transplant James Ro and his sister have just opened Pibu Soma, a skincare pop-up shop in the former Mud Bay location at East Pine St. and Bellevue Ave. in the soon-to-be-demolished building that is also home to Edie’s, Scout, Vutique, Le Frock and Bauhaus. Pibu Soma focuses on natural skincare and cosmetics and carries Kahina, Ila Spa, Dr Alkaitis, Soleil Organique, and Etat Libre d’Orange and will be open until August when the whole block is slated to be torn down, which is such a travesty I can’t even stand it.
