NFFTY - National Film Festival for Talented Youth
See more than 200 documentaries, shorts and features by filmmakers ages 22 and younger at this three-day film fest, which showcases work from around the world. Plus, new this year: the Film Expo (4/27-4/28; Seattle Center Exhibition Hall) is an opportunity for budding filmmakers to attend panels and network with film-industry professionals, organized in conjunction with the World’s Fair “Next 50” celebration.

Spring Awakening
Glee fans must run—not walk—to Cap Hill this weekend for a thoroughly captivating Spring Awakening. Thanks to sold-out crowds and rave reviews for a short January run, Balagan Theatre is reprising its awesome take on the Tony award-winning musical, with a strong cast of up-and-comers directed by local actor Eric Ankrim. Explicit language, sexual situations and brief nudity make the show most appropriate for ages 14 and older.

Space Needle’s 50th Anniversary Tasting Menu
If you visit SkyCity, the Needle’s rotating restaurant, during the month of May, make sure to order from the special tasting menu, featuring five entrees from five iconic Seattle chefs, among them legendary sushi chef Shiro Kashiba and Tom Douglas. Proceeds from the menu benefit local charities. Hardcore food lovers can meet the chefs at a special tasting event on May 1 (your challenge: get each one to autograph your napkin).
