Nordstrom and GQ's Fall Fashion Show Recap
The Nordstrom Men’s Shop and GQ Fall 2013 Runway Show, benefiting the Detlef Schrempf Foundation at the recent Fashion Week at The Bellevue Collection, was all about accessible fashion, and of course, the models. Several local male celebrities, including Steve Hauschka of the Seattle Seahawks, Michael Gspurning and Andy Rose of the Seattle Sounders, Brian and J.P. Canlis, Dan Savage and Terry Miller, Isaiah Thomas of the Sacramento Kings, members of Campfire Ok and King 5’s Mark Wright, came out for the cause and took to the runway sporting the Fall’s hottest looks. The goal, mentions Peter St. John, GQ’s style expert, was “versatility.” Looks that could go from the boardroom to the bar were achieved through layering and careful attention to detail. Rich colors, like chocolate and burgundy, and fabrics, like velvet, leather, fur and corduroy called in the days of cool weather ahead. The outfits were easily attainable and wearable for the modern on-the-go guy who strives to look presentable at all times, yet we couldn’t help but notice the resurgence of some of that vintage, Don Draper class.
