The Southern restaurant from Heather Earnhardt we’ve been anticipating since spring (read more here) is finally, finally open. And what a tasty-looking menu! We can’t wait to get our hands on an Auntie Annie biscuit sandwich with fried chicken, bread & butter pickles, mustard and honey ($7.50). There’s also a goose salad with local greens and smoked tomato vinaigrette  ($9.50) that sounds intriguing; I love me some goose meat. Vegetarians or Meatless Mondayers can dig into the thoughtfully designed veggie plate, with pimento mac & cheese, Sea Island peas, collard greens and a buttermilk biscuit ($12.00).

The other opening of the day is Ha!, a Mexican-American, open-all-day venture in the old Hunger space on the hill in Fremont. The name is a reference to a woman’s laugh, and we’d tell you more but it looks like a website is still forthcoming.

On imminent-opening watch: Matthew Lewis’s Roux, which was gonna open in September…but now it’s October. We’re betting/hoping it’ll open very soon.
