Turn off the Wi-Fi? They’d sooner turn off the La Marzocco. Zoka was Seattle’s first coffeehouse designed from the group up with laptop laborers in mind. No wonder a local software startup (Delicious Monster) once used the place as its office. That’s not to say the coffee is secondary: Zoka has produced a national barista champion, pours marvelous macchiatos and was also one of the first to purchase a Clover brewing machine (before Starbucks gobbled up the rest). Zoka has three Seattle-area locations and three more in greater Tokyo. (Did you know that Seattle is synonymous with great coffee in Japan, and a top brand there is called Mount Rainier: The Mountain of Seattle?)
