Remember how creepy it was when those disembodied feet kept washing up on the shores of BC? Some posited that it was the result of a serial killer, or a plane crash, or a human trafficking ring.
But it turns out the explanation is much simpler (though no less creepy): The feet—almost always found in sneakers—belonged to people whotook their own lives by jumping off a bridge. Their decomposing bodies were eaten away by fish, but the feet were protected by rubber-soled shoes. Thus the grisly feet-in-shoes eventually made their way to shore.
