Iceland invades Seattle this month for the third annual A Taste of Iceland festival, a multi-venue celebration of Icelandic culture and cuisine. Experience Icelandic fare at Staple & Fancy, where Chef Ethan Stowell teams up with guest Chef Hákon Már Örvarsson to prepare a fine $45 dinner of fish, meat, dessert and the signature Reyka Vodka cocktail named "Smoking Bay." If you're not in a food coma by Friday, head to Neumos for a free concert hosted by KEXP, featuring Reykjavik Calling and the Apparat Organ Quartet. Some of the best musicians in the world have come from Iceland, so you never know what history in the making you might witness. Speaking of history, the Nordic Heritage Museum hosts the "Fabulous Iceland" Literary Art Exhibit from October 12th to November 11th. Learn about literary tradition and Icelandic history through a series of short stories and portraits by Icelandic artists of note.
