I’m not shy about my love of Deluxe Foods jams and cocktail syrups. I wear a t-shirt, sporting the logo and tagline (“Try us on toast!”) and I used the syrups in my last Pantry at Delancey cocktail class.
I’m pals with the Chief Tasting Officer at Deluxe Foods, Rebecca Staffel. But just because we’re pals doesn’t make the jams and syrups any less worthy. Don’t take my word for it though.
This Thursday, November 15, is the Deluxe Food Fall Release party and you can stop on by and taste some jams and such for yourself. It’s at the Deluxe HQ (6412 Latona Ave NE in Green Lake) from 5:30pm until 9:00pm, and is open to the public.
As Rebecca says, “We've been stirring the pots all summer to preserve the bounty of the 2012 fruit harvest. Now you get to try it! Come to an open kitchen to try our jams, drink a toast to farmers, and maybe even pick up some chutney for your Thanksgiving turkey.”
The list of products available that night is pretty amazing: over 20 items, including Blueberry Hemingway Jam, Pear Butter with Vanilla, Strawberry Balsamic Preserves, Spiced Green Tomato Preserves that may just contain tomatoes from my own garden, and Earl Grey Cocktail Syrup (which goes divinely in a favorite drink of mine called The Earl of 15th Avenue).
Head down and stock up on jams while supporting a great local artisan.
