A mod mix on the Eastside. This suburban infill project in Kirkland finds an artful balance between materials and shapes. Architect Leah Martin, owner of Seattle's Verge Architecture & Design, was sensitive to the affect the home would have on the neighborhood and paid close attention to the scale of the home by making a three-story home appear to be only two stories when viewed from the street. Keeping an open-floor plan allows for the entire floor to be entranced by views of Mt. Rainier and the entire expanse of Lake Washington. The kitchen features many eye-catching elememts from custom sapele cabinets to the island slab of Persian Peral granite. The three-story home is revealed from the lake-facing side creating the perfect outdoor living spaces on each level of the home.
