Salty

Seven-foot tall nutcrackers make this restaurant holly jolly, and Santa himself shows up on the week

By Alicia Arter December 15, 2009

The dining rooms at Salty’s restaurants look like huge toy boxes this December, as 7-foot tall hand painted nutcrackers, along with lots of smaller nutcrackers, lights and holiday decorations turn them into holiday wonderlands. With the amazing water views that each restaurant has there are marvels everywhere you look. The larger-than-life nutcrackers, inspired by Seattle’s Nutcracker ballet were painted by local artists for a Northwest Center fundraiser and Salty’s owner Jerry Kingen bought them all.

On weekends the nutcrackers are joined by the jolly old elf himself during Santa brunches at the restaurant. There are still a few reservations open for next weekend, so check with the restaurants for reservations. Adult brunch is $32.95, children age 6-12 are $12.95  and those age 5 and under are free. Santa photos are free!

Salty’s is also collecting and donating toys for the West Seattle Help Line and Toys for Tots.

And finally – going fast – New Year’s Eve reservations at the West Seattle and the Redondo restaurants.
