!–paging_filter–pstrongSerious Expansion/strongbrTom Douglas’ empire is growing again: South Lake Union’s SERIOUS PIE BISCUIT (401 Westlake Ave. N; 206.436.0050; a href=”http://www.seriouspiewestlake.com” target=”_blank”seriouspiewestlake.com/a) is expanding, taking over the space that once housed Soul Wine. The Tom Douglas team is also building a bar in the ground-floor space, with a full menu from Serious Pie available. But there’s one Douglas project that’s still up in the air: that falafel stand at The Paramount we told you about a year ago. Douglas told me via email it is still “in limbo.” brstrongbr19th Street Treats/strongbrWhen the long-awaited 19TH MERCER (a href=”http://www.19mercer.com” target=”_blank”19mercer.com/a) mixed-used development opens sometime next week on the corner of 19th Avenue E and E Mercer Street, across from Kingfish Café on Capitol Hill, there’ll be plenty to dig your teeth into. TALLULAH’S, the latest from Linda Derschang (Linda’s Tavern, King’s Hardware, Oddfellows), is modeled after Oddfellows, only kid-friendlier, and there’ll be a joint project from MOLLY MOON’S and new cookie shop HELLO ROBIN. Add to that the food-centric mercantile CONE STEINER GENERAL, from Fuel’s Dani Cone, Josh Henderson (Skillet, Westward), and Jon Milazzo and Lori Pomeranz (Retrofit Home), which will have a growler-filling station, a flour mill, housewares and staples. Is 19th is the new 12th?/p
