Urban Coffee Lounge

A sleek, urban oasis in the ‘burbs, UCL draws an eclectic mix, including sophisticated boomers, techies, stylish moms, hikers, bloggers, musicians and poets. Owners Alicia and Jeff Miner are smart and sassy, with a wicked sense of humor. Alicia is the coffee guru (she says she was fired from “corporate coffeebucks” for not conforming). Jeff is the architect of the comfortable urban-industrial interior (concrete floors, leather furniture, pendant lighting), and fabricated many of the fixtures, including the espresso counter. UCL also boasts Chocolati-crafted chocolate-covered marshmallow dip sticks, a beer and wine happy hour every day (5-7 p.m.), and is open to all drink requests-even the most unusual order it’s ever received: an eight-shot white mocha.
