Video: Nordstrom and the Fashion Project

Donate the unworn items in your closet and get $40 to spend at Nordstrom

Nordstrom is teaming up with Boston-based Fashion Project, an innovative clothing donation site that resells gently used designer clothing and donates 55 percent of the proceeds to charity. Since launching in 2012 the company has donated over $50,000 to causes such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Unicef.

Here’s how it works: you donate five quality pieces (which equal at least $50 in original retail price), in great condition, by a brand from this list, and once they sell on the Fashion Project site, you’ll receive a $40 gift card to Nordstrom. The same 55 percent of the proceeds will be donated to a charity, the gift card from Nordstrom is just icing on the cake. In order to sell your items, the peeps at the Fashion Project will send you a pre-paid donation bag—all you have to do is fill it with clothing, shoes and handbags that have more to give, but aren’t doing you right any longer.

Here’s a video to explain it further. Sign up now to pay your fashion forward.
