!–paging_filter–pspan This week is jam-packed with tasty tasting possibilities,a href=”http://\/\/seattlemag.com/update-whats-pouring-inaugural-brew-seattle” target=”_blank” including the first-ever Seattle-centric BREW/a. It somehow seems fitting that the provocatively titled Wine vs. Whiskey should fall on Friday, covering all the booze bases./span/p
pThe showdown pits six wineries against six local distilleries at The Loft at Russell’s in Bothell. Sippers vote on their faves and a winner is announced at the end of the evening when the event might be re-branded as wine before whiskey./p
pParticipating wineries include Matthews, Lantz Cellars, Kestrel, Alexandria Nicole, A to Z, and Flying Dreams going mano-e-mano against Woodinville Whiskey, Dry Fly, Oola, JP Trodden, Ghost Owl, and Skip Rock distilleries. If ever a tasting screamed out for a designated driver, it’s this one and high fives to organizers for offering a $20 ticket to the DD. (Available at the door.)/p
pA whole bunch of bites–including plenty of sweet stuff–will also be served./p
pThe competition begins at 7. a href=”http://www.mandeals.com/ManDealscom-Events/deals/Single-Admission-to-Win…“Tickets are $55/a./p
