Mobiles, when done as artfully as those created by Burien-based Sara Lawrence for her line Flutter and Twirl, are a delight to all who behold them, not just babes in their cribs. There’s something so soothing in the way they lazily rotate and bounce gently overhead. Lawrence, a librarian by trade, crafts paper, wool roving, metal, stained glass, watercolors and more into delicate, nature-inspired fine-art mobiles reminiscent of cherry blossoms, blowing leaves and feathery fronds. Her sweet floating family tree (photo, above), with a felted heart and paper leaves ready to be inscribed with family names or initials, makes an excellent shower gift, keepsake or declaration of love.

Mobiles range from $15 to $200 and are available at flutterandtwirl.etsy.com
