(7/16 to 9/25, times vary) In collaboration with SMK – The National Gallery of Denmark, the Frye Art Museum presents a rare exhibition of masterworks by one of the 19th century’s most distinguished Symbolist painters, Danish artist Vilhelm Hammershøi (1846-1916).

(7/14 to 7/16, times vary) Timber! returns with a lineup that includes Langhorne Slim & the Law, Telekinesis, Deep Sea Diver, Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter, Chastity Belt, Jason Webley, The Maldives and others. In addition to the musical lineup, the festival offers a number of “adventures,” including REI-sponsored hikes and kayaking, the chance to join a gonzo marching band, and Camp Timber!, which presents special kids’ concerts, crafts and more.

Must Fest
Chinatown/International District Hosts the Seattle Dragon Fest

(7/16 to 7/17, times vary) At the Pan-Asian Seattle Dragon Fest, enjoy dragon and lion dances, Japanese taiko drummers, Seattle Chinese Community Girls Drill Team and other live performers, along with dishes ($2 each) from numerous Asian food vendors. Stay for the Night Market, with its international wares and art from local businesses.

(7/15 to 7/17, times vary) The Fellowship of the Ring, the first film of the beloved Lord of the Rings trilogy, is presented on a giant screen as the Seattle Symphony performs the epic score composed and orchestrated by Academy Award-winner Howard Shore.
